UAE Gratuity Calculator: End of Service Benefits

Work out end-of-service gratuity for a private-sector employee in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or any emirate under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021. Enter the last basic salary and the dates of service to see the amount and how it is calculated.

Under Article 51, a foreign employee who completes at least one year of continuous service is entitled to gratuity, whether they resign or their employer ends the contract: 21 days of basic salary for each of the first five years and 30 days for each year after that, with part years paid pro rata.

Gratuity is based on the last basic salary, not the total package. Days of unpaid leave do not count as service, the total cannot exceed two years of basic salary, and payment is due within 14 days of the contract ending.

Worked example: an employee with a last basic salary of AED 9,000 leaves after exactly 10 years. The daily wage is AED 9,000 / 30 = AED 300, and gratuity is (5 x 21) + (5 x 30) = 255 days, so 255 x AED 300 = AED 76,500.

Part-time employees receive gratuity pro rata to their hours under Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022. The calculator does not cover UAE nationals, the DIFC and ADGM free zones, or employers in an approved alternative savings scheme.
